06 Men's Ministry

The Hillsboro United Men’s Ministry is an Ecumenical Men’s Ministry, made up of men from churches in Hillsboro and the surrounding communities, which will serve God by serving our churches, our communities, and our families. And along the way, we will help each other with our individual walks with God.

Goals of the Men’s Ministry

We will serve God by serving our churches. For instance, if one of the churches in town needs manpower or other forms of support, we will do what we can to provide the manpower/support.
We will serve God by serving our community. We will look for ways to help out in the community. Helping with community or school projects, or helping families in need. Bottom line, lending a hand where it is needed.
We will serve God by serving our families. As the leaders of our families, we must make sure we set a good example. We will work to provide the resources for men to do this, such as guest speakers, seminars, and other men going through, or who have been through, similar situations.

There is a substantial amount of study that proves there are many benefits when men take an active, positive role in their families;

The families are stronger and more stable.
If the father takes his family to church, the children are more likely to attend on their own as adults and take their families. What a great legacy to pass on!
The men have better relationships with their wives.
The children are emotionally stronger, more confident, and less likely to become victims.

Why have a Men’s Ministry?

Because Jesus said, “The greatest commandment is to love our neighbors as ourselves.”

First Monday for Men:

On the first Monday of the month the men of our church travel to Sandown NH and join with our brothers in Christ at Saint Matthews United Methodist Church for a time of worship, teaching and fellowship. The speakers are men of the greater New England area that speak to issues that affect us today. The St. Matthews worship band provides a great time of contemporary worship that is guaranteed to bring you closer to God. Please contact George Belanger 464-3262 if for information or a ride.
